About this event
Children can improve their reading skills and boost their confidence by reading with gentle and patient certified therapy dogs who love books! Kids will have a 10-15-minute session with a dog to read aloud from a book of their choice (if you don't have a book, a librarian will suggest one) . The main purpose is to create a relaxed, friendly, and non-judgmental atmosphere so a child can read aloud and practice their reading skills. Reading aloud may improve comprehension, strengthen fluency, and boost working memory. Dogs understand every language! They are great listeners and will not correct mistakes, which helps foster trust and self-confidence. The event happens every 1st Thursday of the month. Free with limited capacity. No registration required. Tickets will be distributed at the Information Desk 30 minutes before the event on a first-come, first-served basis. The number of tickets is limited.
