About this event
The Side Sword (or Spada da lato) is a single handed 'cut and thrust' weapon. Our curriculum is based on two manuscripts: The New Text on the Art of Arms (1536) by Achille Marozzo and the Treatise on the Science of Arms with Philosophical Dialogue (1553) by Camillo Agrippa. As students progress they begin training with the side sword and buckler, a small shield which can be used for both offense and defense.
