The SJtoday team
If you saw violet everywhere Wednesday, here's why. Thousands of Golden State Valkyries fans swarmed San Francisco's waterfront for a victory parade, days after the team beat the Atlanta Dream 68-63 in Game 7 of the WNBA Finals. In only their second season, the Valkyries are the fastest basketball expansion team to win a WNBA title.

- Route: Ferry Building to 2nd and King streets
- Scheduled: noon to 2 p.m.
- Caltrain: two extra trains, northbound 901 leaving Diridon at 9:13 a.m.
The team chose the waterfront over the usual Market Street route, SFist reported, to reflect the team's identity and its connection to both sides of the bay. Mayors Barbara Lee, Daniel Lurie and San Jose's Matt Mahan were slated to join the parade.
